Built for the room, not for the catalogue
A pantry is where an office pauses for a moment. Where the coffee is made, where a conversation starts. We think a place like that deserves more than a standard unit from a factory. So we build this pantry to measure: the length follows the wall, the layout follows the use, the materials follow the rest of the interior.
The fronts are solid European oak, in vertical panels about half a metre wide. That looks calmer than one large surface — and it is the reason the fronts are still straight years later: every panel sits loose on a stable frame and is free to move with the seasons. The handle is milled into the top edge, so no hardware interrupts the line.
For the worktop we chose walnut rather than the same oak. The dark, warm contrast above the pale carcass is the detail that finishes the piece — and it is a nod to the Estate collection, where walnut takes the lead.
Design details
- Fronts — solid European oak, six vertical panels, grain running horizontally across them.
- Handleless milling — a recessed handle in the top edge of every front, across the full width.
- Joints — ten millimetres between the panels: a deliberate rhythm, not a seam.
- Worktop — solid walnut, matt oiled.
- Construction — panels mounted independently on a stable frame; carcass in bonded board for dimensional stability.
- Plinth — black and set back, so the piece appears to float.
- Finish — matt oiled, fronts and worktop given the same treatment.
Specifications
With a pantry the length is nearly always project-specific. We settle it during a survey on site, together with the layout of drawers and doors and any appliances. Worth knowing: a wooden worktop asks a little more care than stone — use a trivet for hot pans, wipe up water straight away and oil the top a few times a year. If there is cooking every day, we are happy to advise on a natural stone worktop combined with the same oak fronts.
Delivery
Payment in two instalments: 50% on order, 50% on completion. Lead time on average eight to twelve weeks after the design is approved. Delivery and installation by us, throughout the Netherlands and Belgium; after installation we inspect the work together.
